Vice Principal

I joined Goresbrook School in August 2015 as an Assistant Principal having previously worked in an Outstanding Secondary School in Leeds. I applied to Goresbrook School as I was incredibly excited by the prospect of being involved in the creation of something new. I was also attracted to the school’s vision; to deliver excellence in education to all children, regardless of background or circumstances, from age 3-18.

I began teaching in 2010 as part of the Teach First Graduate Scheme. This experience was fundamental in shaping my career to date, providing me with significant opportunities to develop my teaching and leadership skills. I have since worked in a number of Middle and Senior Leadership positions.

Since joining Goresbrook School I have developed significantly as a professional. I have been given opportunities to challenge myself, taking on new and exciting responsibilities. The continual focus on improvement and growth for both staff and students underpins all that we do and means that everyone is learning, all of the time. I have found it invaluable to work in an environment where reflective practice is so highly valued and change and risk taking is embraced. It has meant I have learnt a great deal, changed much of what I thought and have become a better teacher and leader as a result.

Goresbrook School is a truly unique place to work. The staff team are committed to ensuring that children and their families have access to the very best education and that all children achieve their potential. Everyone goes the extra mile. Head of Year 7 & Head of PE



I joined Goresbrook School in July 2016 as Subject Lead of Physical Education. I had previously worked in the borough as a Head of Physical Education for 3 years. I then also took on the exciting role as Head of Year 7 at Goresbrook.

I applied to Goresbrook School as it was a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new exciting adventure to help build the foundations of the school and shape the lives of so many within Barking and Dagenham by proving and outstanding education for all. The vision of Goresbrook School:  'to deliver excellence in education to all children, regardless of background or circumstances' also reflects my own visions and beliefs.  

Since joining Goresbrook School I have had the most amazing experience. I have been given fantastic opportunities to challenge and develop myself both as a leader and a teacher. The team of staff are very supportive of each other and good practice is continually shared. Our students are a true credit to the school and brighten every day.  

Goresbrook is an inspiring place to work. Being a big part of a rapidly growing environment is really exciting. Everyone is fully committed to delivering the highest standard of education and shaping the future of our students and the community.  I am really looking forward to working here and growing with the school over the coming years.

Year 2 Teacher - Opticians Class

I joined Goresbrook School in 2014 as a Learning and Teaching Assistant (LTA). The invaluable experience, vast teaching and learning practices and simply the abundance of joy I had gained from being an LTA, fuelled my desire to become a primary school teacher. I am currently a trainee teacher on a School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme. Goresbrook School has a deeply embedded ethos for continued professional development. 

I receive weekly training and mentoring sessions which allow me to reflect on my teaching practise, as well as develop and gain new skills and knowledge that I am able to apply to the classroom. Goresbrook School is a truly unique place to work, not only because it is a brand new school but because of the excellent staff team, who are willing to go the extra mile for every single child, every single day. The support I have received from the school has been exceptional and has made the leap from LTA to teacher a very exciting experience. I have had an amazing start to my teaching career and I look forward to many more years of teaching at Goresbrook School.

Amy Vincent

Year One Teacher - Designer Class

I joined Goresbrook School in July 2015 as an NQT and immediately became a part of the founding Year One team. I joined Goresbrook School because I was aware of a new project in Barking and Dagenham that wanted to provide outstanding education to all children. I grew up and went to school in the same borough, and my past educational experiences has had a huge, positive influence on my life. I wanted to give back to the community which helped shape me into the professional I am today.

I studied Early Childhood Studied at UEL where I obtained a 2:1 BA Hons award. After my undergraduate degree I chose to further my studies with UEL, so I enrolled into a Primary PGCE course with a focus in the Early Years. During my teacher training I trained across Nursery, Reception and Year One. During my training, my passion for providing outstanding and engaging PE lessons was clearly evident. My love for PE and my role at Goresbrook has given me the unique opportunity to implement and deliver the PE curriculum from scratch. I look forward to the prospect of delivering outstanding Primary PE lessons across the school to a wide range of children and I am lucky enough to do this at Goresbrook.

The staff at Goresbrook are exceptional and will consistently offer their support to one another which creates a stimulating work environment where everyone is determined to work to their full potential.

Shanice Bradshaw

Learning Mentor - Primary

I joined Goresbrook School as a Learning Mentor having had 7 years previous experience working with SEMH and SEN children. I am passionate about breaking all barriers to learning by putting in place engaging, dynamic and encouraging interventions. Over my 7 year career I have witnessed so many success stories and it is truly an honour for me to be part of them. Goresbrook was an excellent opportunity for me to utilise the skills I have gained so far and also equip me with more! Goresbrook is an excellent school, delivering high quality learning opportunities within and outside the classroom. Goresbrook School gives every child an opportunity to excel regardless of any barrier the child may have to learning. The school really does 'see the best in everyone' and I am honoured to be part of an ever growing school community.

Prior to joining Goresbrook I worked in a primary school as a Nurture Group Assistant. I was given so many amazing opportunitieswithin this role such as leading CAF and TAF meetings, writing IEP reports and counselling parents and children. Due to my experience of Nurture Groups I was given an amazing opportunity to lead Goresbrook School's very first Nurture provision.

I am so amazed at the level of support I have received from fellow staff members. My aim is to establish many more Nurture provisions as the school grows. Already I have seen such success from the children that attend and I am excited to see what the future holds. This is all thanks to Goresbrook School. The school that can make all your dreams a reality!

Prior to joining Goresbrook School, I worked at an outstanding Secondary school in the heart of London (Paddington Academy, also part of United Learning). United Learning gives you the flexibility in your career, regardless of your position. I have been privileged to be part of this vibrant organisation for 7 years. The flexibility United Learning offers allowed me to switch to different roles within the organisation.
