Welcome to Goresbrook Library

National Novel Month and Competition

Hello Goresbrookians,

November is officially celebrated as Novel Month and we here at Goresbrook definitely love our novels and appreciate the importance of reading. Reading, though, would be impossible if we didn't have all those authors and poets and playwrights writing amazing short stories and novellas and novels and poems and plays for us to read.

As a result, my challenge for you this month is a Short Story Competition. (Please do feel free to make it a long story if you feel like writing a lot.)

There is no specific theme and there is no restriction as to how long your story should be. You can write your story by yourself or it can be a collaborative attempt at writing along with your besties.

The deadline for submissions is 27 November and the winners will be announced through the website.

Each entry earns you 3 DTAs and the chance to create an amazing new world. (Ok, yes, there is a reward for the top 3 stories wink )

You can submit your entry either in the library or through email to: dimitra.charalampidou@goresbrookschool.org.uk

If you need help, come to the library after school and Ms Dimi can help you.

If you want to write your story online, you can go here: https://ywp.nanowrimo.org/ and use the classroom code: JAUCAXUD to enter Goresbrook School's Classroom. It's a place you can write your story and keep track of your writing.

I am looking forward to reading your creations and travelling to worlds that you imagined and brought to life.

Stay safe and stay kind,

Ms Dimi
