Sports Premium

Goresbrook School Primary received £18,690 Sports Premium Funding for 2024/25.

The sports premium funding is money that enables schools to:

• support all children and young people to live healthy, active lives

• make participation in PE and school sport easier

• make sure all children can achieve and thrive through increased physical activity and sport, no matter their background or ability

• improve children’s health, wellbeing, personal development and academic attainment

• embed the foundations of positive and enjoyable participation in regular physical activity.

We believe this funding must be used so that all children benefit regardless of sporting ability. We aim to encourage and celebrate a ‘love of sport’ and understanding of the importance of being active and healthy.

This money has been used in a wide range of ways including: 

• Offering all pupil premium children at Goresbrook attendance to one paid sports club per term for free.  

• Enabling secondary colleagues to teach in Years 4, 5 and 6 PE 

• Hiring a swimming pool to be on site to enable high intensity swimming sessions. 

In addition to the above, in the academic year 2025/26, we will continue to develop our staff CPD and development, take part in football and cricket competitions across the borough and make stronger links within our local community.
