Our student community

Meet Michael

Founding Goresbrook Sixth Form student currently studying Politics and International Relations at Loughborough University.

What did you enjoy most about Goresbrook Sixth Form?

It was very sociable. You could talk to literally anyone. Teachers knew us and we asked for feedback and help easily. As a result of this, I was about to go from average GCSE grades to top A-level grades.

What support did you get?

Teachers are just willing to go the extra mile. I always had the resources I needed. Teachers would run interventions during the day and after school. Teachers were there to make sure any mistakes we were making were corrected.

What is life like at University?

I am enjoying the freedom and independence. There are great opportunities to seek your passions. I feel more like an adult, and I am learning a lot about life and budgeting!

Meet Olaronke

Founding Goresbrook Sixth Form student currently studying Social Sciences at Kings College London.

What is the best thing about GBS Sixth Form?

The academically rigorous environment created where students have the opportunity to thrive in their schooling but also feel safe and comfortable to emotionally develop and become better people.

What opportunities did you get at GBS Sixth Form?

I was challenged academically and was supported by a wonderful staff network. I had the chance to interview with world class universities like Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford and Princeton (and now I attend one!) and I became a better human through GBS’s commitment to giving us real world skills.

Why would you recommend joining GBS Sixth Form?

I studied at GBS for 7 years and I know I wouldn’t be the same person without it. The academic focus that this school has is wonderful but it is also a network of professionals who care about us as real people and give us the skills to tackle real life problems and to be good people.
